Book Review: Characteristics of a Christian

Aaron Erhardt just released a new book: Characteristics of a Christian. The description from the Erhardt Publications website is below:

Characteristics of a Christian sets forth 10 qualities that Christians are to possess, including love, humility, hospitality, patience, boldness, etc. This book can be used effectively in adult and teenage classes. It is an “easy read” with questions at the end of each lesson.

There are many people who claim to be Christians, yet the way in which they live their lives makes them indistinguishable from those in the world. But the people of God are to be different – not “conformed to this world, but…transformed” (Romans 12:2) – shining “as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).

In this book, Aaron highlights ten characteristics that Christians are to have in order to set themselves apart from the world. Each characteristic is defined using the Scriptures. Bible examples – both good and bad – are used to illustrate how the characteristics may be displayed in one’s life. There are also questions at the end of each chapter, making this a good tool for both personal and group Bible studies. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in improving their walk with the Lord.
