May 5, 2008 - I will no longer be posting issues of Banner of the Cross online. You can follow the link to read more about this decision.

April 30, 2008 - In the previous entry, I mentioned my plan to install a content management system. That has now been done and most of the site has been moved over to it. I believe the only exceptions are the sections for Banner of the Cross and The Lamp. Those will be moving as well. As I mentioned before, you may need to update any bookmarks you may have that go to any page on this site other than the main page. If you notice any problems with the site, please let me know. I'm mostly interested in any links that don't work. I know there are at least a couple that will need my attention. There are also a couple minor tweaks I'll have to make to the layout & design of the site. These things will be taken care of eventually. I just need a bit of a break from it with all of the hours I've put into the site this month. But if you see anything that needs my attention, please let me know. Thanks.

April 1, 2008 - I was able to successfully move this site to a new host this month. It's possible that no one noticed the transition. I was anticipating at least a few hours of down time. But as far as I can tell there may not have been any. If there was, it was minimal. The next step is to install a content management system that will help me with updating content. I plan to work on this behind the scenes and make the transition over the next few weeks. The site should be live during this process, though it's possible that by the end that some of the pages will be moved. The worst that will happen is if you have any of the pages other than the main page bookmarked, you may need to update you bookmark. Other than that, everything should be the same with only minor visible changes.

March 1, 2008 - I plan to move this site to a different host this month. When I do, the site will be down until the nameservers are updated and pointed to the new location. This could be a few hours or a few days. I'll try and do this around the middle of the month since the traffic is usually lower then. If you visit later and the site appears to be gone, don't worry, it will be back online soon. Thanks for your patience during this period.

January 15, 2008 - The Links page has been updated with a couple new sites listed. One of the new links is for a site I just started - Do It Yourself Sermon Outlines. It setup in a blog format and contains brief sermon outlines that may be useful in providing ideas for one preparing for a sermon, class, or short talk.

August 1, 2007 - As we begin a new year of Plain Bible Teaching, the site has again been given a new look. Most of the pages have been updated, except for the articles and materials in the study section. Those will be updated in the future. I've also made a few additions on the Links page.

April 23, 2007 - I added a new study section containing the material from a booklet I wrote on the recent marriage, divorce and remarriage controversy. It is titled, Understanding the Putting Away Controversy. I hope you find this to be a profitable study.

April 8, 2007 - "The Lamp" has been temporarily discontinued. More information here.

March 4, 2007 - I have started printing a monthly bulletin called Banner of the Cross. You can follow that link to read the first issue. I am currently using this as a bulletin for the congregation where I preach regularly. Since it contains only articles and no announcements specific to that congregation, it can easily be used by others in different places. The intent is to include articles that will be beneficial to both Christians and non-Christians. Most articles will be ones that have first appeared on Plain Bible Teaching. If you are interested in using BOTC, you can download the current issue in PDF format from that page, print it out, and make as many copies as you need. I hope this might be a helpful resource for you.

January 11, 2007 - Up to this point I have been doing all the page layouts on the site using Microsoft Word since I didn't know HTML. While the site was functional, the layout of some pages would appear a little off, depending on what web browser you were using. Well, I finally learned HTML well enough to be able to write the code for all these pages and have now updated everything except the articles. I also made some minor changes to a few pages while I was doing this. I hope this change will make the site easier to view, regardless of the web browser you use.

December 31, 2006 - I have recently started using Google Groups for the Plain Bible Teaching mailing list. More information about this change can be found on the Mailing List page. There is also a new Plain Bible Teaching Blog. You will find a link on the main page. This weblog will be used to announce new content on the site (just like the mailing list) and also for me to post brief messages about spiritual things once a week or so. So be sure to check that out periodically.

October 5, 2006 - Earlier this year, I wrote a booklet titled, "'Now Concerning the Collection' - A Study of Giving." I decided it might be good to post it here. Since the material is too lengthy for a regular article, I included this in the Study section. I hope you find this material beneficial.

September 11, 2006 – The Links page has been updated with several more sites listed. Added are links to pages of different brethren as well as various reference materials.

September 3, 2006 - The Parkway Church of Christ in Bowling Green, KY is currently publishing a series of articles by Tim Haile in the local newspaper on simple evidences. I have added a section on Evidences where I will post these articles. There should be a new article each week for the duration of the series.

August 1, 2006 - To correspond with a new year of Plain Bible Teaching, the site has been given a slightly new look. You've probably noticed it already. I've updated all the graphics and made slight adjustments to the layout of a few pages. I've looked into how to make graphics for the web and was able to make the new graphics much smaller files that the old ones. So the pages should load faster (especially if you have a dial-up internet connection). I've also added a Study section. This will be for material compiled on different subjects that are "meatier" (Heb. 5:14) and require more study than other topics. These will not necessarily be controversial topics, though they very well may be. Right now, the only study on that page is the one I added a couple weeks ago - Human Organizations Engaging in Spiritual Works. You can get to this section by clicking on the link at the top of each page.

July 19, 2006 - I've added a section devoted to the topic of Human Organizations Engaging in Spiritual Works. The page lists articles that should be helpful in the study of this issue. In the interest of fairness, I've included articles by those who defend the practice and those who question the practice. I hope this will help in your study of the issue.

April 30, 2006 - The Links page has been empty since I started this site. I finally got around to adding some links on there. I'm sure I'll add more in the future, but for now I hope the ones added will prove helpful to you.

March 13, 2006 - I added links at the bottom of each article back to the front page and the archives page. I figured this was a good idea in case one of the articles was linked from another site. Then anyone directed to that particular article would be able to easily check out the rest of the site as well. I also made some minor changes to a couple other pages.

January 23, 2006 - I've updated the Archives section by adding an index of articles arranged by subject. This includes all the Plain Bible Teaching articles, as well as articles from "The Lamp." Hopefully this will help make it easier if you're looking for articles on a particular topic.

October 8, 2005 - "The Lamp" has been updated with 2 articles for October. Up till now, I've been announcing updates for "The Lamp" on this page. From now on, I'll have the date it was last updated next to the logo on the front page. It won't be on every page though, just the front page. But this way when you visit, you'll be able to see right away when "The Lamp" was last updated.

September 17, 2005 - The September issue of "The Lamp" is now online. The Archives page has also been updated. Previously, all past issues of "The Lamp" were listed under the "Recent Issues" section. Now that section just has articles from three previous months and a link to another page with the complete listing.

August 6, 2005 - The August issue of "The Lamp" is now online. You can read it by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.

July 22, 2005 - The site has a new look. I wasn't happy with what I was getting using OpenOffice to make the pages so I'm making them now using Microsoft Word. I'm a lot happier with the way the pages look and this was much easier to figure out.

July 15, 2005 - I am no expert when it comes to HTML. I'm using the HTML editor that comes with OpenOffice to make this page. Using the Internet Explorer web browser, the page looks about how I made it. However, I noticed last night that using the Firefox web browser, the spacing is off - making the contents of the frame on the left about twice as long as the frame itself. So the left column looks a little awkward, but the content in the main section here (which is where the articles will be) is all there. The most annoying part is that I don't know how to fix it. I'll have to try and figure that out. It's possible that Firefox is the only browser that this happens with. I don't know. But I do know that you can see the page just fine with Internet Explorer. So if all else fails, default to that.

July 9, 2005 - In addition to articles for Plain Bible Teaching, we will also be posting articles from "The Lamp." "The Lamp" is a monthly email bulletin sent out by Matt Nevins. To see the current issue, as well as past issues, click on the link at the bottom.
