In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

In this episode, we discuss two passages – Proverbs 1:10-19 and 4:14-19 – that warn about the dangers of peer pressure. This is not a problem limited to the youth, but all Christians of every age need to guard against the evil influence of others.

An Excellent Wife (Season 11, Episode 9)

In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

Proverbs 31:10-31 describes the “excellent wife.” Rather than thinking of this description as an unattainable ideal that does not exist in reality, we should look at the character and priorities of this woman as the example that all godly women can and should follow.

Keep from the Adulteress (Season 11, Episode 8)

In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

In Proverbs 7:1-27, the wise man warned his son about the adulteress – first by pointing out the foolishness of one who puts himself in a position to be tempted, then by describing the tactics she uses in order to make this sin convenient, enticing, and seemingly without consequences. There are important lessons for all of us – men and women – in the wise man’s warnings in this chapter.

Do Not Look at the Wine When it Is Red (Season 11, Episode 7)

In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

In Proverbs 23:29-35, Solomon has some strong warnings about the use of alcohol. While many want to justify the casual use of alcohol (“social drinking”), Solomon made it clear that the way of wisdom is to avoid even the first drink because of the destructive, deceptive, and addictive nature of alcohol.

Things Which the Lord Hates (Season 11, Episode 4)

In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

As one learns to accept the wisdom that comes from above, the result will be a change of character. In Proverbs 6:16-19, we find a list of seven things which the Lord hates. These can be easily contrasted with the positive character traits we must develop as we pursue wisdom.

How Blessed Is the Man Who Finds Wisdom (Season 11, Episode 3)

In this season, we’re discussing some lessons from the book of Proverbs.

Wisdom is not valuable simply because it has been arbitrarily declared to be valuable. It is valuable because of the rewards that come for following after it. In Proverbs 3:13-26, the wise man explained how wisdom causes one to be blessed.
